This is J.W. Peters - Solar Power of Oklahoma
Thursday Mar 18, 2021
Thursday Mar 18, 2021
On this episode I chatted with J.W. Peters, partner at Solar Power of Oklahoma. We talked about the benefits, stigmas and power of solar energy. There's a lot of political jargon around solar power or it doesn't work because the weather in Oklahoma isn't perfect for solar panels. Tornadoes, hail, snow all the seasons. How long you need to have the system on your home for it to be worth it. The issues for lack of solar power on homes. It was a blast to chat with J.W. about the benefits and how the industry is moving forward here in Oklahoma. J.W. ands partner Kevin started Solar Power of Oklahoma with the goal of saving Oklahomans money on their electric bills. They saw a need and knew solar could be the answer to high electric bills across the state, and that's still their goal today. For more information go to www.solarpowerok.com

This is Johnny Sompholphard - Vatsana's Seafood Hot Sauce
Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
Tuesday Mar 16, 2021
On this episode I chatted with Johnny about his seafood hot sauce named after his mother. Johnny is of Laotian decent, growing up his Mom would make authentic Laotian food which always had her home recipe of hot sauce on the side. Johnny grew up in Houston but studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. He started his career in Chemical Engineering but a job change brought him to Weatherford Oklahoma. Well as you know, Weatherford isn't exactly Houston. So Johnny had a lot more time on his hands and started to develop his own hot sauce with his Moms recipe. To see if his hot sauce was as good as he thought, he entered a hot sauce event in Houston and to his delight received great reviews and sold out!! Returning to Weatherford full of confidence he quit his job!!! Talk about going all in!! Today his hot sauce is in a few stores and he regularly attends the OKC Farmers Market held at Scissortail Park! This starts in April and you should definitely go visit and try his sauce.

This is Horn Canna Farm - Dustin & Nikki Snow
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
On this episode I chatted with Dustin & Nikki Snow from Horn Cannas Farm about their family business which has been selling Cannas since 1920's
Horn Canna Farm, Inc. is one of the largest growers of canna bulbs in the world.
Our story began in the early 1920's when Great Grandma Frances Horn received six canna bulbs from her aunt in Arkansas. It was not long and cannas were taking up a large portion of the family's vegetable garden.
Great Grandpa John Horn began taking cannas on his daily vegetable routes to surrounding towns in 1928. Even though times were challenging, his canna sales grew and became a substantial income for their family.
The same as today, only the very best bulbs were personally selected for Grandpa's daily sales run. At the young age of 15, (Grandpa) Neil Horn traded his parents, John and Frances, a Jersey calf for the rights to the canna business.
There have been many changes throughout the years but one thing has not changed! Our number one goal is to sell large, top quality cannas and back up our sales with exceptional, friendly service.
