This is 46th State Candle Company.- Rico Smith
Tuesday Apr 20, 2021
Tuesday Apr 20, 2021
On this episode I chatted with Rico Smith founder of 46th State Candle Company. Rico is born and raised in OKC. He developed a love of politics from a young age and set his heart on that profession, to make a change in the world. Rico studied at OCCC before transferring into OU. Graduated with a Political Science degree and then packed his bags for GW in Washington. Rico developed his interest in candles after needing to make his apartment his own. He had his Oklahoma set work hung on the walls but nothing really smelled like home. So in his spare time he developed fragrances, researched towns, festivals and all the great things that make the small towns in Oklahoma so great. Like to Watermelons in Rush Springs. "Watermelon capitol of the world!" After a few more years of work and studying Rico decided to return to Oklahoma and launch 46th State Candle Company on statehood day in 2019.

This is Noah Engh - Fine Quality American Roots Music
Monday Apr 12, 2021
Monday Apr 12, 2021
On this episode I chatted with local musician Noah Engh. Noah has moved into the OKC area and in the last couple of years started to make his mark on the music scene here in OKC. Playing gigs on patios, bars and venues right up until covid struck us all and cancelled any public gathering. Once that happened Noah kept playing and started a fundraising campaign for the local bartenders called "Garage With A Cause". Playing live shows via the internet every Friday to raise money for a different venue that he had previously played at. Hugely successful campaign, raising thousands and giving back to the local community. Recently Noah has started to appear back on stage as businesses are starting to open up. He's also been working on a new project called "Uke In A Suit" which you can find on instagram www.instagram.com/ukeinasuit for more details. Had a blast hearing Noah's story and excited to have him in OKC playing venues all summer long. Check him out www.instagram.com/noahengh or his website www.noahenghmusic.com

This is Jared Holt "Jrod" - Cruisin Oklahoma
Tuesday Apr 06, 2021
Tuesday Apr 06, 2021
On this episode I chatted with Jared Holt "Jrod". Jared has a huge passion for cars and racing but at the center of all that is his love for this state. Jared created a monthly cruise bringing the Oklahoma car community together during covid. Since October 2020 the events have grown from strength to strength. In the recent cruise we started in Blanchard, cruised around the western Oklahoma countryside for 100 miles and back to Blanchard. To see and learn more about Cruisin Oklahoma. The local municipalities helped tremendously, blocking roads, escorting us through town and closing downtown Blanchard for a block party when we returned. I encourage everyone to join us each month. Every destination is different and you don't have to drive a flash car to be involved.
