This is Isabella Fierro - Cowgirl Golf

On this episode I chatted with Cowgirl golfer Isabella Fierro about her first couple of years in Stillwater. One of the most highly touted recruits in Cowgirl golf history, Fierro was ranked No. 35 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings on signing day and has been ranked as high as No. 28.

Isabella ended her sophomore year with the best career stroke average in program history at 71.44. She also set the scoring record. Won the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational – just her third career event – in record-breaking fashion. Her 201 (-15) broke the program’s 54-hole scoring record by four strokes, and her 65 in the final round tied for the third-lowest round in school history.

This is Vilona Michael - V Marketing | PR Life in OKC

On this episode I chatted with Vilona Michael from VMarketing here in OKC. Vilona is from East India. Her parents moved here in the 60's for a better life. On the way over here her father met a man from Kingfisher Oklahoma and so that is where her family settled. 

Vilona has a wonderful story, going against cultural norms being raised by Indian parents expecting marriage, kids and prioritizing education. Vilona put herself through university at TU. Graduating with a marketing degree and starting at a huge agency in Tulsa before moving to OKC. 

Vilona's business kicked off after she volunteered at a meeting for the new Uptown 23rd district. Volunteering her marketing and PR services to the community. After the district was launched and word of mouth took off Vilona found herself with multiple clients reaching out asking for help with their personal businesses or other districts needing help. VMarketing was born.

It failed, he was humbled and came back to his family trucking business founded in 1932. 13 or so years after his business failed he started up another company, which led to a few more and now he employs 10+ people. Justin continued to pursue his passion even when he worked full time. Never gave up and today has a business fabricating and making custom iron pieces for houses, restaurants, offices all over the country.

This is Austin Tunnell - Building Culture

On this episode I chatted with Austin about the lost art of building masonry. Like many of our guests, Austin has a wonderful journey to find his passion. Originally from Houston he went to university and then onto an accounting firm. After a year in the office he knew he needed something different. Austin embarked on a journey to South America working for the peace corps where he found a master of masonry and wallah a passion was born. 

Searching the web Austin found a guru stateside building homes in Carlton Landing near Lake Eufaula and offered to come work for free with the hope of getting a job. Well that job turned into him starting his own company with a partner and Building Culture was born. This is Marc Jones - CEO & President of Homeland

On this episode I chatted with Homeland CEO & President Marc Jones. We talk all about Marc's journey literally across the world. Born in Canada and a twin Marc like most of us wasn't sure what he wanted to do but eventually found his way in the meat packing grocery business. 

Marc came to the US after being accepted into Harvard Business School, after graduating his story really takes off around the world with a variety of companies. To places across the states and then China while raising two kids. Marc's wife is the real MVP here.

John and has family have a fascinating story of how they purchased and rescued The Mayo Hotel. In this podcast John tells the story of how he bought the rundown hotel for 1 DOLLAR! 1! If you dont know the history behind the hotel. Every dead president has stayed there, there are 76 apartments where people live all year round. 

"Since first opening its doors in 1925, The Mayo Hotel in Downtown Tulsa has hosted thousands of prominent guests, including celebrities, political figures and titans of the oil industry. After closing its doors in 1981, the Tulsa landmark was vacant until December 2009.
